Accessibility statement
What we commit to, and where we fall short.
An accessibility statement that only lists successes is marketing. This one includes the limitations we know about.
Our target
This site aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is the bar the European Accessibility Act (Directive 2019/882) applies to digital products and services sold in the EU, and the bar EN 301 549 and current Section 508 guidance point to.
What we have done
- Semantic HTML with a single H1 per page and a correct heading order.
- A visible focus style on every interactive element, and a skip link to the main content.
- Colour contrast checked against AA thresholds for text and interface components.
- Touch targets of at least 48px on interactive controls.
- All motion — including the animated globe — stops under prefers-reduced-motion.
- The site works without JavaScript: every page renders its content server-side.
- Decorative canvas graphics are hidden from assistive technology; informative ones carry a text description.
Known limitations
- Automated tooling catches roughly a third of real accessibility issues. Our manual keyboard and screen-reader pass covers each template, not every page.
- We have not yet run a session with an assistive-technology user on this site.
- Third-party embeds, if added later, may not meet the same standard.
